Tickets are included in the entry fee for all skippers and crew sailing in the Star Worlds. Guest tickets are available for advanced purchase.
Opening Ceremony
Saturday, September 7
SDYC
The regatta opening ceremony will take place at San Diego Yacht Club outside, next to the Malin Burnham Sailing Center. Gold Star champions including Malin Burnham, Dennis Conner, Mark Reynolds and George Szabo will be recognized and seated on the dais. SDYC Juniors will parade flags honoring international competitors. Star Class President, Paul Cayard, the SDYC Commodore, Al Pleskus and local military leaders will welcome “Olympic and World Champions competing alongside sailors of all ages”. Immediately following the ceremony is a seated dinner in the SDYC Pavilion/Pool area including welcome gifts for the competitors and an open bar.

A Star Class Tradition – The Midweek Trophy Ceremony and Dinner
Malin Burnham Day -- Tuesday, September 10
Aboard the USS Midway
The traditional midweek trophy ceremony will be harborside on the flight deck of the USS Midway, the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century and now listed as “the number 1 thing to do in San Diego”. The location offers magnificent 360-degree views of San Diego, spanning the downtown skyline, San Diego-Coronado Bridge, and Point Loma. Four-course, seated dinner and open bar included.

Progressive Dinner - Dennis Conner Day
Thursday, September 12
SDYC
This dinner begins with multiple, progressive happy hour locations at the SDYC, one being the yacht America, a replica of the 139-foot yacht that won the historic Royal Yacht Squadron's 100 Guinea Cup Race Around the Isle of Wight in 1851. After hors d'oeuvres and drinks, everyone will come together on the Sail Wash Lawn and Spinnaker Deck for an American BBQ with open bar and live entertainment by the band "Gin ‘n’ Jukes”.
Dress: San Diego Formal (Blue Blazer and flip flops)
Trophy Dinner/Closing Ceremony
Friday, September 13
SDYC
Everyone will gather on the main deck with the reigning Star World Champion's boat secured to the guest dock, ready to receive a gold star. Trophies will be awarded, most importantly, the International Star Class Championship Perpetual Trophy, in continuous use since 1922. Buffet dinner and open bar in the dining room. Dress: Blue Blazer
