Veteran MacCausland adds Gold Star to his impressive collection



After a long, very challenging final race, John MacCausland and Phil Trinter have been named the new International Star Class World Champions! Phil has won before (1993 at Kiel, Germany, sailing with Joe Londrigan), but John has been amassing 19 Blue Stars (District) and 7 Silver Stars (Continental) while waiting his turn to win the Gold.

Campbell-von Schwarz win again, MacCausland-Trinter win the series



John MacCausland and Phil Trinter steal the Qualcomm 2013 Star World Champion title and add their name to the 92 year old Star Class’ International Trophy. Andrew Campbell and John von Schwarz won their second race of the series today, and their second ever race at an International Star World Championship.

San Diego Team Campbell & Von Schwarz Dominate Race 5, Maccausland & Trinter Continue to Lead



At the Qualcomm 2013 Star World Championship series, local Star sailor Andrew Campbell and his crew John von Schwarz conquered the fickle breeze to win the fifth race in the sixth race. John MacCausland and Phil Trinter continue to lead the fleet with an impressive seven point lead, guaranteeing the team will win the regatta as long as they earn a top seven finish in the final race tomorrow.

2013 Star World Championship - Rohart-Pulfer wins again



The winner of the day is French skipper Xavier Rohart and crew Serge Pulfer again. Race four was equally as challenging as the previous day’s race, but not because of the weather. Rohart and Pulfer fought inch by inch with John MacCausland and Phil Trinter from the moment the starting gun was fired until the last couple of seconds at the finish.
